Make Your Own Luck - Don't Drive Impaired on #StPatricksDay2018 (Photo) - 03/15/18

*** Media Event: On Friday, March 16, 2018, at 6:45 p.m. at the former Southeast Precinct (4735 E. Burnside Street), Portland Police, Oregon State Police and representatives from MADD will hold a news conference to help raise public awareness about the dangers of driving while impaired.

On St. Patrick's Day weekend, the Portland Police Bureau's Traffic Division will partner with the Oregon State Police to conduct a joint traffic enforcement mission throughout the City of Portland. Officers and troopers will focus on DUII enforcement and other dangerous driving behaviors.

Drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs injure and kill thousands of people every year. People consuming alcohol or drugs should not get behind the wheel and should have a sober driver or utilize taxis, rideshare companies or transit so everyone is safe on our streets. Report impaired drivers to 9-1-1.

The Portland Police Bureau is committed to working with our partners in government and the community to create safer streets and work toward reducing, and eventually eliminating, traffic fatalities as part of Vision Zero.
