On Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 3:14 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a robbery at Aylee and Company, located at 1408 Northwest 23rd Avenue.

Officers arrived at the store and learned a suspect entered the location and demanded money and other items while implying he possessed handgun. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash and other items the suspect left the location without incident.

Responding officers searched the neighborhood with the assistance of a canine team. During the search, a community member alerted officers to where the suspect may be hiding. Officers continued the search with the canine and located a man that matched the suspect's description. Officers contacted the man and took him into custody. Officers located evidence of the robbery where the suspect was hiding prior to being taken into custody.

The suspect and his charges will be released after he is lodged at the Multnomah County Jail.
