Traffic #Alert: Shooting Investigation Underway on NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd - No Known Injuries - 03/12/18

On Monday, March 12, 2018, at 5:54 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the reports of gunfire in the 6300 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.

When officers arrived on scene they located evidence of gunfire on Northeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.

During the investigation, officers contacted witnesses who stated that occupants of two vehicles reportedly shot at one another. The involved vehicles were described as a green SUV and a black truck. The vehicles and the suspects associated with the vehicles left the scene immediately after the shooting. The suspects and the involved vehicles have not been located at this time.

There were no reports of injuries or people arriving at area hospitals as a result of this shooting.

During this investigation Northeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard will be closed between Northeast Holman Street and Northeast Highland Street.

Based on information learned at the scene, the Portland Police Bureau Tactical Operation Division's Gang Enforcement Team is responding to assume the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division are also responding to assist with this investigation.
