News Release
Shooting Investigation Underway in North Portland's Eliot Neighborhood - No Injuries - 02/18/18

On Sunday February 18, 2018, at 4:47 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center on the report of gunfire in a nearby parking lot.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted hospital security, learning that there was gunfire in a hospital parking lot and people drove out of the area.

Officers located evidence of gunfire but did not locate any victims. It does not appear that the gunfire had any direct nexus to hospital operations.

Based on information learned at the scene, the Gang Enforcement Team will conduct follow-up investigation.

The hospital was placed into a temporary, partial lockdown as a precaution but has resumed normal operations.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Police Non-Emergency Line at 503-823-3333.
