On Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 11:30 p.m., Portland Fire and Rescue responded to the report of a house fire in the 8200 block of North Wabash Avenue.

When Portland Fire and Rescue crews arrived they learned an adult female was likely inside the home that was on fire. As crews attacked the fire they located an adult female on the front porch of the residence. Emergency medical personnel determined the woman was deceased.

Portland Fire and Rescue Arson Investigators requested the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Homicide Detail respond to assist with the death investigation. Detectives responded to the scene and were assisted by criminalists with the Portland Police Bureau's Forensic Evidence Division. A member of the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office also responded to the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation. The name of the deceased will be released after an autopsy is completed by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office.
