UPDATE: Fatal Crash Investigation Underway on Boones Ferry Road - 12/04/17

The passenger of a 2016 Jaguar F-Type sedan killed Sunday evening on Southwest Boones Ferry Road has been identified as 44-year-old Shad M. Alexander of Aloha.

Investigators with the Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division's Traffic Investigation Unit continue to investigate this crash. Anyone with information about this crash should contact Officer Phillip Maynard at 503-823-2216 or Phillip.Maynard@portlandoregon.gov

On Sunday December 3, 2017, at 5:57 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a single vehicle traffic crash on Southwest Boones Ferry Road near Alfred Street. The caller reported that the vehicle was stuck in a tree down an embankment.

Officers, firefighters, and medical personnel arrived and were able to get both driver and passenger out of the vehicle. The driver did not appear to be suffering from any serious injuries; however, the passenger did not survive the crash.

The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team is responding to conduct an investigation.

Southwest Boones Ferry Road is closed in both directions, from Colony Drive to Terwilliger Boulevard, and is expected to remain so for several hours until the crash scene is clear.

No additional updates on this crash are expected this evening.

The Portland Police Bureau is committed to working with our partners in government and the community to create safer streets and work towards reducing, and eventually eliminating, traffic fatalities as part of Vision Zero.
