UPDATE #3: Two Men Arrested in Connection to November Shooting Death (Photo) - 11/23/17

Two men have been arrested in connection with the November 7, 2017, shooting death of 21-year-old Diego Tejeda-Manzo. The suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Nicholas L. Hannan and 26-year-old David M. Brown.
 
Hannan had gone to a local hospital for treatment of an injury shortly following the shooting, police contacted him at the hospital, and remained with the suspect while he received medical treatment.  
 
Brown was arrested and lodged on November 7, 2017 in connection with the death of Teresa-Manzo. Brown was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of Assault in the Third Degree.
 
Hannan was released from an area hospital on Thursday November 23, 2017 and lodged in the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of Murder.

The deceased man located early Tuesday morning when officers responded to the report of a shooting on Southwest Montgomery Street has been identified as 21-year-old Diego Tejeda-Manzo of Vancouver, Washington.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office determined Tejeda-Manzo died of homicidal violence as a result of a gunshot wound.

Detectives with the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Homicide Detail continue to investigate this shooting.

Preliminary information suggests there was a disturbance prior to the shooting. When Portland Police and Portland State University Public Safety officers arrived they found an adult male in front of the Subway located at 1717 Southwest Park Avenue. Officers provided the man medical aid, but emergency medical responders determined he was deceased.

During the preliminary investigation, officers contacted witnesses who reported seeing several people running from the location shortly after hearing gunfire.

Officers searched the neighborhood and did not locate a suspect. Evidence of gunfire was located in the area near the Subway restaurant.

Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division have responded to assist with the investigation. A member of the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office will also respond to the location.

The victim will be identified once the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office has completed an autopsy and next of kin have been notified.

Based on information learned at this point in the investigation, detectives do not believe there is a danger to the public.

On Tuesday November 7, 2017, at 12:54 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the 900 block of Southwest Montgomery Street on the report of a shooting.

Officers arrived and located a person lying on the ground. Medical personnel determined the person was deceased.

Based on preliminary information, detectives with the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Homicide Detail are responding to conduct a death investigation.

There have been no arrests at this time.

Interested media should stage at Southwest Park Avenue and Southwest Mill Street. The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responding to the scene.

The area from Southwest Park Avenue to Southwest 10th Avenue on Southwest Montgomery Street is closed to vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic during this death investigation.

Detectives are asking that anyone with information call the Police Non-Emergency Line tonight at 503-823-3333, or the Detective Division tomorrow at 503-823-0400.
