The 25-year-old suspect involved in two robberies and an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday October 25, 2017, has been released from an area hospital and has been lodged in the Multnomah County Jail. Chase Arnae Peeples is being held on a Federal hold and a parole violation.
The officer involved in the shooting will remain on paid administrative leave, as is standard procedure, until the conclusion of the investigation.
Because this matter remains under investigation, no additional information regarding this case will be released pending a review by a grand jury, which is tentatively scheduled for early December.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Wednesday afternoon's bank robbery and officer-involved shooting in North Portland.
The robbery suspect injured in the shooting remains in a Portland hospital in serious condition and is expected to survive. The suspect has been identified as a 25-year-old male. For investigative reasons, his name is not being released at this time. Upon the suspect's release from the hospital (to be determined by medical personnel), he is expected to face both state and federal charges in connection with the robberies at Ace Check Cashing and U.S. Bank.
The Portland Police Bureau member involved in the shooting is Officer Ryan Reagan, a 19-year-veteran of the Bureau.
This is an active, ongoing investigation but preliminary information indicates that Officer Reagan and his partner officer encountered the robbery suspect at North Oatman Avenue and Saratoga Street. The officers were approximately 50 to 60 feet from him as they gave the suspect commands to put his hands in the air. The suspect did not follow the officers' commands, turned towards the officers and advanced towards them as he reached into his pocket. Officer Reagan fired multiple shots from his handgun, striking the suspect. After the suspect was down on the ground, additional officers arrived and approached the suspect, provided immediate medical aid, and called for an ambulance to respond to the scene.
No weapons were recovered at the scene; however, some of the suspect's clothing and a backpack was taken as evidence and will be searched, pending the approval of a search warrant.
No additional information is expected to be released in this investigation until the suspect is released from the hospital and is booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

On Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 1:27 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a bank robbery at the U.S. Bank, located at 3233 North Lombard Street.
As officers responded to the bank robbery, U.S. Bank employees provided emergency dispatchers a description of the suspect. The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, wearing a dark baseball hat and dark clothes. The description was broadcast to responding officers.
At the time of the U.S. Bank robbery, officers were investigating a robbery at Ace Check Cashing, located at 2722 North Lombard Street. Employees at Ace Check Cashing called 9-1-1, at 1:16 p.m., and reported that a black male in his 20s, wearing a dark baseball hat and dark clothes had robbed the location.
In both robberies, the described suspect entered the location demanded money, produced a note, obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and left the locations. Preliminary information indicates the suspect did not display any weapons during the robberies.
Officers searched the nearby neighborhood for the suspect involved in the U.S. Bank and Ace Check Cashing robberies. While officers were in the area of North Oatman Avenue and North Saratoga Street, they observed a man matching the suspect's description.
As officers encountered the suspect, an officer discharged his firearm, striking the suspect. Immediately after the suspect was shot, emergency medical personnel were requested to the location and officers also devised a plan to safely approach the suspect and rendered him medical aid.
Emergency medical responders arrived and provided additional aid to the suspect. The suspect was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.
Portland Police Homicide Detectives, assisted by the Multnomah County Major Crimes Team are continuing the investigation into this shooting.
The investigation is in its early stages and no additional information will be released at this time.
The identity of the suspect will be released at a later time. The involved officer will be released on Thursday. The officer will remain on paid administrative leave, per Bureau policy, until the completion of the investigation and Grand Jury or completion of the criminal case.
Following the Grand Jury, the Bureau will release additional information as is standard practice. The officer will interviewed by investigators within 48 hours.
As part of the use of force review process, the Bureau will conduct an internal review of the entire incident and the case will go before the Police Review Board (PRB).
