NR: Mt. Carmel Job Fair April 18 features Emergency Services Employers - 04/17/19

Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center hosts an Emergency Services-focused job fair Thursday, April 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for veterans, transitioning military and spouses. Employers representing government and private emergency services opportunities attend at 530 Communication Circle, Colorado Springs.

To prepare veteran and military community job seekers ahead of the event, Mt. Carmel hosted practice interviews with regional employers, networking events to develop job seeker skills, and has provided resume assistance and more.

“The market remains tight for highly-skilled, qualified candidates,” said Paul Price, Mt. Carmel Transition and Employment Director. “Employers know the military and veteran community represents an incredible talent pool and that they bring great experience to the emergency services mission.”

Participating employers include: Colorado Springs Police Department; El Paso County Sheriff’s Office; Colorado Department of Corrections; Colorado State Troopers; U.S. Secret Service; Customs and Border Patrol; Federal Bureau of Prisons; Sterling Police Department; Thornton Police Department, Allied Universal and others.

Candidates are encouraged to visit employer websites to research positions ahead of the job fair and arrive with copies of resumes, professional training documentation and proof of service.
