On Thursday, March 10th, 2022 at about 1:31 PM, the Junction City Police were dispatched to an east parking lot of the Junction City High School located at 888 W. 6th Ave., Junction City, Oregon on a report of an unresponsive subject slumped over in a vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers found the subject barely breathing and began lifesaving efforts.  The subject was subsequently transported to an area hospital and his vehicle was impounded and removed from school property.  Subsequent investigation revealed the subject was identified as 54-year-old Garen Daniel Thies with a date of birth of 03/07/68.  It was also determined that Thies was a non-compliant level three registered sex offender with the Oregon State Police.

Earlier this morning, Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 at about 7:41 AM, Junction City Police received another call reporting Thies was once again in the same parking lot.  While officers arrived only moments later, the complainant stated Thies had driven away eastbound on 6th Ave. from Nyssa Street, seconds prior to police arrival.

Thies is described at a white male, 5’10”, 150 lbs, with brown hair, blue eyes, and has multiple tattoos, one of which is the word “MUGZ” which is displayed on his left lower arm.  Thies is driving a medium blue-colored 2006 Suzuki Aerio with Oregon License #817-MVY.

Junction City Police need to interview Thies to fully investigate and determine what, if any, crimes in which he may be involved.  Anyone with information about Thies and/or his whereabouts is requested to contact the Junction City Police immediately at 541-998-1245.  Citizens are cautioned that Thies may be dangerous and that under no circumstances should anyone attempt to make contact with him.
