Dog Stabbed and Bystanders Threatened; Suspect Lodged in Lane County Jail on Multiple Charges - 01/14/18

On Sunday January 14th, 2018 at approximately 1:49pm the Junction City Police Department received a report of a male subject waving an eight-inch knife around outside the apartment complex located at 920 W 1st Avenue in Junction City. It was also reported the subject had just stabbed a dog.

The Junction City Police and the Lane County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene where the subject was detained without incident. The investigation revealed the subject stabbed the dog in self-defense after the dog attacked and bit his arm. After the dog sustained fatal injuries, the subject began waving the knife around again in a menacing fashion and making threating remarks toward one of the persons responsible for the dog.

Due to the nature and location of the incident there were multiple other confrontations between the subject and other area residents. The department is continuing to investigate to determine if additional charges will be filed.
The subject was identified as Christopher Michael Low. Mr. Low was lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges of Menacing and Disorderly Conduct.
