Douglas County Major Crimes Team Continues Investigation Into Fatal Stabbing

MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. – The investigation into the fatal stabbing in Myrtle Creek remains ongoing, but detectives are releasing the identity of the teen who died in the September 13th incident.
On Sunday, September 13, 2026, shortly before 10:45 p.m., 911 dispatchers received a report of a disturbance in which two teens were stabbed at a residence in the 100-block of NE Laurel Avenue in Myrtle Creek. Deputies later learned the stabbing occurred during a physical altercation.
Fire and EMS personnel responded along with law enforcement. Despite lifesaving efforts, 17-year-old, Robert Rosser of Riddle, was declared deceased at the scene.
The second individual, a 17-year-old male whose name continues to be withheld per Oregon law, was transported by ambulance with critical injuries. He was later transported to an out-of-area hospital to receive higher level of care. His condition is currently listed as stable.
The 16-year-old individual who used the knife in the incident has been identified. His name continues to be withheld at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing by the Douglas County Major Crimes Team with assistance of the Myrtle Creek Police Department.
