Missing Person Investigation (Photo) - 10/27/22

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. - Charles and Kathleen Waller were located this afternoon by Douglas County Search and Rescue. The couple were camping at a recreation site near the Glendale, Oregon area that did not have cellular telephone service. The couple were safe and did not require any further assistance.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office would like to thank our law enforcement partners, the Volunteers of Douglas County Search and Rescue, the Oregon State Police Aviation Unit, the United States Coast Guard, and the Oregon State Search and Rescue Coordinator all of which assisted in this investigation.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is currently conducting a missing persons investigation into the whereabouts of a California couple known to have been passing through Douglas County. 

Charles and Kathleen Waller were known to have been in the Glide area on or about October 23, 2022. Charles, age 81, and Kathleen, age 79, were reportedly driving to their home in Boulder Creek, California in a 2017 Ford Four Winds Motorhome bearing California license plate 8HWX240.

The Wallers are typically in communication with family members on a daily basis, but have not been heard from since October 23rd when they stated they were approximately 45 minutes north of the Oregon-California border. Their cellular telephones are currently powered off and no one has been able to reach them since. 

Charles Waller is described as a white male who is 5'10" 207 lbs with gray hair and brown eyes. 

Kathleen Waller is described as a white female who is 5'6" 190 lbs with gray hair and blue eyes.
