UPDATE: Major Crimes Team Activated -06/09/20

SUTHERLIN, Ore. - Investigators have released additional details in the shooting which took place on Saturday at the Sutherlin Relax Inn
Detectives say that 39 year-old Roseburg resident Nicholas Jermaine Holloway went to the Relax Inn and confronted his estranged wife, 34 year-old Carolina Montano Barragan, also of Roseburg. Holloway opened fire on Barragan with a handgun, striking her multiple times. Holloway then turned the gun on himself in the parking lot of the motel.
Upon the arrival of emergency responders, Barragan was alive and transported to an undisclosed hospital for medical treatment. She is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive. Holloway was declared deceased at the scene.
The investigation is being lead by the Sutherlin Police Department who is being assisted by the Douglas County Major Crimes Team. The completed investigation will be forwarded to the Douglas County District Attorney's Office for review.

SUTHERLIN, Ore. – A major crimes investigation is underway in Sutherlin this afternoon.
On Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 1:42 PM, 9-1-1 dispatchers received reports of a shooting which had taken place at the Relax Inn (1386 W. Central Avenue). Sutherlin Police Officers arrived on scene and located one male deceased in the parking lot and a female suffering from gunshot wounds.
The female was transported to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of her injuries. The deceased male has been identified as the subject who fired on the female before turning the gun on himself.
The Douglas County Major Crimes Team has been activated and is conducting an investigation into the incident. The Major Crimes Team consists of investigators from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police and Roseburg Police Department as well as prosecutors from the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.
No further information is expected to be released at this time.
