Today, the Douglas County Law Enforcement Association will present a check with the funds raised during "No-Shave November" to the Community Cancer Center at the Douglas County Board of Commissioners Meeting at 9:00 am. The Commissioner’s Meeting is held in Room 216 of the Douglas County Courthouse.
###
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. - Sheriff Hanlin, DCSO deputies and staff retired their razors for the month of November in order to bring awareness to men's health issues and to raise funds for the local Community Cancer Center.
Normally, Douglas County deputies adhere to strict grooming standards, which include limitations on facial hair. Sheriff Hanlin temporarily relaxed the facial hair standard in the name of community service and we received astonishing support from our staff, members of the community and the Winston Police Department.
The Douglas County Law Enforcement Association, a non-profit organization, collected the funds and along with Sheriff Hanlin and staff, will present a check to the Community Cancer Center at the Board of Commissioners Meeting on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 9:00 am. The amount raised is not being disclosed at this time, but we are excited about the results.
Although the No-Shave Campaign is over and deputies have returned to their usual clean-shaven look, we thought you might enjoy these pictures.
