Narrative:
Members of the Deschutes County Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team spent several months investigating complaints from the Alfalfa community related to ongoing suspected illegal marijuana grow operations. The Alfalfa community’s concerns ranged from increased traffic to a steady increase in suspicious activity. Investigators determined the root cause of this activity was directly related to multiple illegal marijuana grow operations in Juniper Acres, which is located about 10 miles East of the Alfalfa store in Crook County.
The investigation culminated in the service of 5 search warrants in the Juniper Acres area. The search warrants led to the seizure of over 1000 marijuana plants (some as tall as 15 feet), over 200 pounds of processed marijuana, 1 Butane Honey Oil (BHO) Lab, 9 firearms, Psilocybin (mushrooms) and nearly $12,000.00 in cash. All five sites had sophisticated illegal marijuana grow operations and there was evidence to support the illegal marijuana was destined for out of state delivery. 3 suspects were arrested as a result of this investigation. This case is ongoing and additional investigation may lead to additional arrests.
The Deschutes County Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team was assisted by Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team, Central Oregon Emergency Response Team, Crook County Sheriff’s Office and Crook County Road Department.
