MEDIA RELEASE | Sherwood Resident Arrested For Embezzlement (Photo) - 11/05/26
In July 2026, Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by investigators from Morones Analytics, representing Milroy Golf Systems, a golf course construction and irrigation company based in Newberg, Oregon.
After discovering suspicious transactions and bookkeeping discrepancies in late 2025, Milroy Golf Systems hired the Portland-based forensic accounting firm to investigate. The investigation uncovered substantial evidence that former bookkeeper Lauri Lynn O’Connor, 65, of Sherwood, embezzled more than $1.1 million over approximately seven years (2018–2025). O’Connor was terminated in October 2025.
The suspected fraudulent activity included creating false invoices, falsifying QuickBooks entries, making unauthorized employee draws, and forging company checks before depositing them into her personal account.
On October 28, 2026, YCSO Street Crimes and Narcotics (SCAN) investigators, alongside Morones Analytics investigators, presented the case to a Yamhill County Grand Jury. O’Connor was indicted on 17 counts of Aggravated Theft in the First Degree and Falsifying Business Records.
On November 5th, SCAN detectives located and arrested O’Connor at her Sherwood residence. She was transported to the Yamhill County Correctional Facility and lodged.
YCSO extends its gratitude to Morones Analytics, LLC, for its diligent and thorough investigation and continued assistance throughout the case.
O’Connor represents herself online as a professional bookkeeper, QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Oregon Notary, and Licensed Tax Preparer, operating under the business name LLO Bookkeeping & Payroll Inc.
Given the scope of the suspected fraud and O’Connor’s access to sensitive financial software and records, YCSO encourages anyone who previously worked with or employed her and believes they may have been victimized to contact their local law enforcement agency.
Yamhill County residents and businesses who believe they may have been affected are encouraged to contact Detective Sergeant Jacob Herr at [email protected] or YCOM non-emergency dispatch at 503-434-6500.
