Yamhill County SCAN Team Arrest Yields Significant Seizure (Photo) - 10/01/26

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, members of the Yamhill County Street Crimes and Narcotics (SCAN) Team, in conjunction with the Yamhill County Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and YCSO Rural Patrol Red Team, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle as it entered the Walgreens parking lot in Newberg (OR). The occupants were suspected of trafficking significant quantities of controlled substances into Yamhill County.

 

Following the stop, Corporal Akin and K9 Puddles from Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to assist. K9 Puddles conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and provided a positive alert to the odor of controlled substances.

 

A search warrant was subsequently obtained and served, resulting in the seizure of approximately 2.2 pounds of methamphetamine, 6.8 grams of fentanyl, and additional paraphernalia.

 

Jeremy Brandon Tarozzi, age 43, of Carlton, was taken into custody and lodged in the Yamhill County Correctional Facility on charges of Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine – Substantial Quantity.

 

Sheriff Sam Elliott praised the efforts of the teams involved, stating, “Our detectives, deputies, and partner agencies continue to work tirelessly to keep dangerous drugs out of our communities. Their dedication and collaborative efforts are making a meaningful impact, one case at a time, in our fight against narcotics trafficking in Yamhill County.”

 

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are anticipated.
