McMinnville Man Arrested For Historical Sexual Crimes; Investigators Concerned About The Potential Of Additional Victims (Photo)

[McMinnville, OR] On July 27, 2026, the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and the Yamhill County Special Investigations Unit initiated an investigation into reported historical sexual abuse that occurred in Lafayette, Oregon. Detectives determined that between 2014 and 2019, Luis Miguel Straub allegedly sexually abused a minor whom he had frequent contact with.
On July 28, 2026, detectives located and arrested Straub in McMinnville. He was booked into the Yamhill County Correctional Facility on Sodomy in the First Degree (ORS 163.405) and Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (ORS 163.427).
During the investigation, detectives learned that Straub has potentially been involved in local youth sports (soccer) in the Hillsboro area and has been employed with a business that provides direct support to people with disabilities. Due to the nature of the allegations and his past roles with access to minors and people with disabilities, investigators are concerned there may be additional victims.
