News Release
Man Arrested After Shooting Incident in McMinnville Yesterday - 07/31/22

Pursuant to the protocol in place in Yamhill County between all the participating agencies in the Major Crimes Response Team (MCRT) the District Attorney assigned the Newberg-Dundee Police Department as the lead investigative agency for this incident.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Response Team and personnel from the Oregon State Police Forensic Services Division Field Response Team worked until the early morning hours of July 31, 2022, processing the scene, collecting evidence, and diagramming the scene.

While full evidence analysis is not complete, investigators recovered evidence suggesting approximately 200 rounds were fired from the involved residence, from multiple weapons of varying caliber.

The involved subject has been preliminarily charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon (x5 counts) and Felon in Possession of a Firearm (x5 counts) and is currently lodged in the Yamhill County Jail.  He is identified as Dillan Joseph Cashman, age 32, of McMinnville.  There is currently no bail under the Presiding Judge’s Order for law enforcement in Yamhill County under Senate Bill 48, as Unlawful Use of a Weapon is an offense that requires appearance before a judge prior to release.  Additional charges are expected as investigators have time to prepare reports, analyze evidence, and present information to the District Attorney’s office.
