Public Assistance Requested in Hit and Run Case in Amity (Photo) - 12/14/18

On Monday, December 10th at about 5:30 p.m. a vehicle struck a pedestrian from behind as he traveled on 5th Street, west of the City Park in Amity.  The pedestrian was thrown to the shoulder of the road, resulting in minor injury. The suspect vehicle was described by the victim as being a white or gray GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado pickup, most likely from the mid 1990's.

The driver of the pickup, who got out of the vehicle momentarily, was described as a younger male in his mid-teens.  He was wearing a black snapback style ball cap, blue pants, a dark jacket, and black/white/green Adidas shoes.

If you, or anyone you know witnessed the above incident or has information as to the identity of the young driver, they are encouraged to contact Deputy Jody Ingham of the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office at inghamj@co.yamhill.or.us
