Search Warrants Result in Recovery of Stolen Property (Photo) - 12/03/18

Gregory Gerald Pritchard, 29 of McMinnville was charged yesterday with Burglary I, two counts of Burglary II and three counts of Theft I after a large amount of stolen property was located at his residence last Monday.  The warrant, which was served at 1512 NW Third Street was written by Sgt. Sam Elliott after he recognized stolen property in the driveway of the residence.

The warrant, which was served with the assistance of the McMinnville Police Department, resulted in the recovery of numerous power tools, tires and wheels, and hand tools which were stolen from several rural burglaries. In addition, property from thefts in the Cities of McMinnville and Carlton was also located.  Methamphetamine and paraphernalia was seized as well.

Pritchard is currently being held at the Yamhill County Jail on $87,500 bail.

This stolen property search warrant was the second written by Sgt. Elliott in less than four months. In late August, a search warrant service took place at 2000 NW Florey Road in rural Yamhill after evidence showed stolen vehicles were being secreted at the property.

During that warrant, 5 passenger vehicles, a motorcycle, a 4-wheeler, and 2 cargo trailers were identified as stolen and recovered. They were connected to thefts in Washington, Yamhill, and Tillamook Counties. Power tools and a high dollar mountain bike stolen out of Portland were  also located. In addition, investigators recovered a homemade silencer, a stolen AR-15 style rifle with obliterated serial number, a stolen handgun, and a small quantity of methamphetamine.

In that case, two subjects were charged:

Daniel S. Busser, 35-

Possession of a Stolen Vehicle (x6), Criminal Mischief 1, Criminal Mischief 2, Theft 1(x2), Unlawful Possession of Short Barreled Rifle/Machine Gun/Silencer, Forgery 2 and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine

Rodney J. Ferrell, 40-

Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Criminal Mischief 1, Unlawful Possession of Meth and Felon in Possession of a Firearm

YCSO was assisted in that case by the Yamhill County Interagency Narcotics Team (YCINT), Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB).

“We will continue to put pressure on criminals intent on taking property belonging to hard working citizens.” said Sheriff Tim Svenson. “I commend Sgt. Elliott on his awareness and willingness to put in long hours in order to reunite victims with their property.  Please take the time to mark your belongings and record their serial numbers.  You never know when this may assist us in recovering your property.”
