Fatal Crash on Bald Peak Road in Rural Yamhill County- Driver Identified (Photo) - 12/14/17

On December 13th at about 1:20 p.m. Yamhill County Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash in the 19000 block of Bald Peak Road in rural Yamhill County. Deputies responded and found a 2003 Mercury Sable in the ditch that had left the road surface and crashed into a tree. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was found to be deceased. She was identified as Betty C. Jones, 80 years of age of McCormick Hill Road in rural Hillsboro.

Initial investigation indicates the Mercury was travelling west bound on Bald Peak Road when it went into the ditch and struck a tree with substantial force. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office.
