YMCA HELPS BRING STRESS-FREE CHILDCARE TO EVANS ARMY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL WITH NEW CHILDREN’S WAITING ROOM - 03/16/26

News Release from YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region

Colorado Springs, CO — The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is proud to partner with  Evans Army Community Hospital, (1650 Cochrane Circle, Fort Carson, 80913 | Building #7503, Room 1400) and The Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA), to bring childwatch services within the hospital. We would also like to thank Leidos QTC Health Services for their sponsorship https://www.qtcm.com/ . Children’s Waiting Room enables all enlisted Service Members and their families to keep scheduled doctor appointments without the stress of finding childcare outside of the hospital for appointments.

Join us at our grand opening  from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 20th, at Evans Army Community Hospital, 1650 Cochrane Circle, Fort Carson, 80913 | Building #7503, BKG Conference Room.

To acquire base access for this event, media representatives please apply at least 24 hours prior to the event using the following link. https://pass.aie.army.mil/steps/branch_selection

Childwatch services are available for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, and the Y will provide up to two hours of supervised childcare while parents attend medical appointments. Reservations are strongly encouraged and should be made as far in advance as possible to ensure availability, though walk-ins may be accepted if space allows. For more information on the Children’s Waiting Room and Parent Policies, please visit https://ppymca.org/childrens-waiting-room/

“Military families serve our nation with extraordinary sacrifice, and the YMCA is honored to serve them in return. The Children’s Waiting Room at Evans Hospital will provide a safe, welcoming place for children while their parents receive care, easing stress for families and strengthening the support system our service members deserve. This partnership reflects our deep commitment to the well-being of the Fort Carson community.”

Boyd Williams - President & CEO - YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region

“As a former military spouse who has seen the value of this program at other Military Treatment Facilities, I am thrilled to help bring such an important resource to military families in our community. My hope is that it helps ease the stress of attending appointments and allows families to focus on their health.”
