Woodburn Police Department Concludes Enhanced School Traffic Safety Enforcement Effort - 09/24/26

Woodburn, OR – The Woodburn Police Department (WPD) has completed an enhanced two-week school traffic safety enforcement campaign that ran from August 29 through September 11, 2026.
During this period, officers conducted 71 traffic stops in school zones during restricted speed hours. The enforcement effort resulted in:
  • 42 stops for speeding
  • 9 stops for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
  • 8  stops for other unsignaled or unsafe turns
  • 12 stops for other equipment violations.
In total, 14 citations were issued, along with 58 warnings.
Although the focused enhanced enforcement period has ended, the Woodburn Police Department reminds all drivers to remain vigilant when traveling through school zones. Safe and cautious driving helps protect students, school staff, and community members throughout the school year.
