UPDATENews Release: Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Vehicle On N Pacific Highway -03/31/23

Update: The victim has been identified as Woodburn resident Elizabeth J. Djema.

 

Original: Friday, March 31, 2023 – Woodburn, OR - On Thursday, March 30, 2023 at approximately 8:42 p.m., Woodburn Police, Woodburn Ambulance, and Woodburn Fire were dispatched to a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian in the 1100 block of N Pacific Highway/99E near James St. 

The victim, a 67-year-old female pedestrian, was struck crossing the southbound lanes of Hwy 99E outside of a crosswalk. CPR was administered to the victim, who was transported to Salem Hospital, but died as a result of her injuries. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which revealed no evidence of the driver being impaired or distracted. Woodburn Police personnel contacted the family of the deceased pedestrian.
