WSU Tri-Cities Wine Researchers Searching For Sensory Panelists - 09/20/24

RICHLAND, Wash. – Researchers with the Washington State University Viticulture and Enology program on the WSU Tri-Cities campus are looking for volunteers to participate in a red wine sensory panel. Panelists will be trained to identify the presence of specific compounds in wines based on aroma and are asked to score them on the results.

Scheduled to start early October, the panel will take place over the course of eight to ten weeks, with three to four training sessions followed by nine in-booth sessions. The training sessions will last between 90 to 120 minutes, and the individual in-booth sessions will be scheduled according to panelist availability and last between 30 and 60 minutes each. Refreshments will be provided after each session. All sessions will be held at the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates WSU Wine Science Center in Richland.

Any person over the age of 21 is allowed to participate. For more information or to sign up for the panel, contact Danni Fox at danielle.j.fox@wsu.edu or Dr. Jim Harbertson at jfharbertson@wsu.edu.
