Discover resources for working with disabilities and connect with professionals at the WSU Tri-Cities' disabilities resource and networking fair - 09/30/22

Richland, Wash – Washington State University Tri-Cities along with other community partners have joined forces to host the Working with Disabilities Resource and Networking Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 3:30 – 5 p.m. in room 120 of the CIC building on the WSU Tri-Cities campus. The fair will provide an opportunity for students and the community to talk and network with those who provide resources related to disabilities in the workplace.

The Working with Disabilities Resource and Networking Fair coincides with National Disability Employment Awareness Month and serves to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.

A panel discussion comprised of employers, including Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and employees will open the event and include time for questions from the audience. Attendees will hear employer and employee testimonials that highlight how talents and skills are recognized and supported with accommodations and other supports. There will also be time available to network with panelists and employers, and community organizations linked to disability resources.

The local businesses and organizations involved in the event include: ACCESS Tri-Cities, Benton County Accessible Community Advisory Committee, Benton-Franklin Workforce Development Council Outreach for Historically Disadvantaged Communities, Comprehensive Health Care New Journeys Program, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce, Washington River Protection Solutions, Washington State Department of Services for the Blind, Washington State Department of Social and Health Services Home and Community Services, and WorkSource Washington.
