Christopher Lloyd Rydman Sentenced In Burglary Case (Photo) - 07/23/26

HILLSBORO, Ore- On July 21, 2026, Christopher Lloyd Rydman pleaded guilty to sexual abuse in the first degree, burglary in the first degree of an occupied dwelling, and private indecency and was sentenced to 10 years in prison by Judge Eric Butterfield. Senior Deputy District Attorney Andrew Freeman prosecuted this case.
 

On October 8, 2025, at about 10:45 p.m., the defendant entered an unlocked apartment in Beaverton, Oregon, that was home to a single mother and her children. The defendant then entered the primary bedroom and got into bed where the mother was sleeping. When the victim woke up, the defendant was lying next to her and touching her body. The woman ran from the room, recorded the defendant with her cell phone as he left the apartment. Her son called 9-1-1.

As officers investigated the first call, the defendant approached another home about a half mile away and loitered at the front door. This triggered a security camera and led to a second 9-1-1 call.
 

While officers were responding to the first two calls, the defendant entered another unlocked residence. He got into bed where a woman and her boyfriend were sleeping, but this time he was naked from the waist down. The couple woke up and were shocked to see the pants-less defendant in their bed. The man then used physical force to remove the defendant from the home. At that point, officers who were already in the area spotted the defendant in the street and arrested him.
 

The Washington County District Attorney’s Office commends the Beaverton Police Department for its work on this case, as well as the victims for the grace and courage they showed from the night of the incident through the court process.  

Mr. Rydman will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
