Jaycob Patrick Holten Sentenced In Domestic Violence Case (Photo) - 07/20/26

HILLSBORO, Ore- On July 20, 2026, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Hafez Daraee sentenced Jaycob Patrick Holten to 100 months in prison. This sentencing follows a criminal trial in which the defendant was convicted of assault in the second degree constituting domestic violence, assault in the fourth degree constituting domestic violence, and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Deputy District Attorney Katherine Miller prosecuted this case.

The victim and defendant were in an intimate relationship. On November 26, 2025, the defendant physically assaulted the victim, took her vehicle without permission, and threatened her with a knife. Fortunately, the victim’s roommate intervened, and the victim was able to escape the situation. The victim’s injuries were severe enough to require surgery.

Tigard police responded and spoke with the victim. They learned Mr. Holten was wanted for a felony warrant related to another instance of domestic violence. Investigators received information indicating the defendant was at his mother’s house and was possibly armed with a gun. Safety concerns prompted a large law enforcement response by members of the Tigard Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office’s Tactical Negotiations Team. When officers arrived, they were able to contact the defendant, who agreed to exit the home peacefully.

The Washington County District Attorney’s Office commends the victim for her bravery in this case. This office also acknowledges the work of the Tigard Police Department and the detectives assigned to this case, as well as that of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Mr. Holten will be transported to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
