Rigoberto Anselmo Soto Convicted On Measure 11 Crimes (Photo) - 04/30/26
HILLSBORO, Ore- On April 1, 2026, a Washington County jury found Rigoberto Anselmo Soto, age 45, guilty of sexual abuse in the first degree, attempted sodomy in the first degree, and assault in the fourth degree. On April 28, 2026, Judge Brandon Thompson sentenced the defendant to 75 months in prison under Measure 11 sentencing guidelines. Deputy District Attorney Katherine Miller prosecuted this case.
On September 16, 2024, the defendant sexually and physically assaulted the victim. The victim reported the abuse to the Beaverton Police Department. Investigators learned the defendant had been abusive with this victim and with at least one other woman from a past relationship.
The Washington County District Attorney’s Office commends the victim for reporting the defendant’s actions. This office also thanks the Beaverton Police Department and the Family Peace Center of Washington County for their work on this case.
In addition to his prison sentence, the Judge also ordered the defendant to serve 45 months of post-prison supervision, to be considered for sex offender treatment, and barred him from future contact with the victim. The defendant will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
