Vancouver Police Investigate Serious Injury Collision (Photo)

Vancouver, Wash. – On November 5, 2026, at around 6:00 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to SE 164th Avenue/SE 29th Street for the report that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle and run over by a second vehicle. Investigators learned that the first vehicle was traveling northbound on SE 164th Avenue, through a green light and was mid-intersection when it struck a pedestrian, a 35-year-old male, who was walking westbound through the crosswalk, against the crossing signal. The pedestrian landed on the windshield and hood of the first vehicle, then landed in the roadway, where he was struck by the second vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle stayed at the scene and called 9-1-1. Impairment is not believed to be a factor on the part of the driver of the first vehicle. The second vehicle briefly stopped but then drove away. Investigators are attempting to gather information on that vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating. Nothing additional is being released at this time.
