News Release
Vancouver Police investigate shooting - 09/19/22

Vancouver, Wash. – On September 18, 2022, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to the 4800 block of Hazel Dell Avenue for a disturbance with weapons call. When police arrived, they located a male with a gunshot wound. Responding officers began emergency medical treatment of the victim, to include applying chest seals to the wound until he could be transported to an area hospital. 

According to witnesses, two males were sitting inside a vehicle and were involved in some type of physical altercation. The suspect excited the passenger side of the vehicle, reached back inside, and shot the victim while he was sitting in the driver’s seat before fleeing the area. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’7”-5’10”. 

A K9 track was conducted, however the suspect was not located. 

The Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit is continuing the investigation. 

Nothing further is releasable at this time.
