Vancouver Police respond to threats call and subsequent homicide - 10/31/21

Vancouver, Wash. –On October 31, 2021 at approximately 12:51 a.m., Vancouver Police responded to a report of threats. A female reported that the father of her two-year old child had picked the child up earlier that evening and several hours later called her, making threats to harm the child. The Vancouver Police Department sent out information in an attempt to locate the suspect’s vehicle. 

Vancouver Police were able to make verbal contact with the suspect, who agreed to turn himself in. At approximately 4:15 a.m., Vancouver Police contacted the suspect in the area of NE Fourth Plain Blvd./NE 57th Avenue and he was taken into custody. The child was located deceased. 

The Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit, Digital Evidence Cybercrime Unit and the Gresham Police Department are continuing the investigation. It is believed that the homicide took place in Gresham, Oregon. 

All other inquiries related to this case should be referred to the Gresham Police Department.
