Vancouver Police investigate shooting - 04/17/21

Vancouver, Wash. –On April 17, 2021, at approximately 4:32 a.m., Vancouver Police responded to the 700 block of Waterfront Way for the report of a shooting. A 35-year-old male is delivering newspapers in the area, leaves his vehicle to make a delivery, when he returns, he sees an unknown adult male sitting inside his vehicle. At some point, the delivery person shoots the person inside the vehicle (the delivery person has a concealed pistol license). At this time, it is unknown what precipitated the shooting. The person who was shot did not survive and has not been identified. There is no danger the public.

The Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit is investigating and Waterfront Way, for an approximate 2 block radius, will be closed for the next 2-3 hours while investigators are on scene.

Nothing further is releasable at this time.
