Vancouver Police investigate stabbing - 01/12/19

Vancouver, Wash. –On January 11, 2019, at 4:54 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to a residence in the 13100 block of SE Angus Street for the report of a disturbance with a weapon. A male reported to dispatch that he had stabbed his mother. When officers arrived, they were able to detain the male caller, Brian C. Toombs, 28, without incident. Officers located Sonya L. Toombs, 57, unconscious in the living room. She had multiple stab wounds around her face and neck and was transported to an area hospital where she remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Brian Toombs was arrested for Attempted Murder I-DV and was booked into the Clark County Jail.

The investigation by the Vancouver Police Major Crime Unit and Domestic Violence Unit is continuing and there is nothing further to release at this time.
