Vancouver Police warn public of extortion emails - 12/13/18

Vancouver, Wash. –Vancouver Police have received multiple calls today from area businesses who have received email messages containing bomb threats. The email appears to be an extortion attempt. At this time no suspicious devices have been located and there are no known victims who have complied with the threat and experienced any monetary loss. These emails are being sent to locations outside of the Vancouver area as well and the FBI is aware of these emails and is also investigating.

Anyone who receives an email of this nature is asked to save a copy and call 911 so that Vancouver Police can take a report.
