Vancouver Police make arrest in robbery and kidnapping case - 09/17/18

Vancouver, Wash. – On September 10, 2018, Vancouver Police responded to a robbery and vehicle theft in the 3500 block of E 21st Street. The victims reported that an unknown male knocked on their door, entered their residence, pointed a gun them and took their car.

Approximately three hours later, Vancouver Police responded to the 8000 block of NW Bacon Rd. for the report of a disturbance with a weapon. The victim reported that he was working as a security guard and was near the entrance of Vancouver Lake Park when a vehicle pulled up behind him; the male driver exited the vehicle and forced the victim into the passenger side of his security vehicle at gunpoint. The suspect later forced the victim into the trunk of the vehicle. The victim was able to call 911and jump out of the trunk uninjured.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Major Crimes Team determined that Dominique Ray Holland, 10/22/1995, was the suspect in both incidents.

On September 14, 2018, Holland was located and was taken into custody by detectives from the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Safe Streets Task Force and Clark County Sheriff’s Office patrol.

He was booked into the Clark County Jail for Assault II – 3 counts, Robbery I – 2 counts, Kidnapping I, Burglary I, Theft of a Motor Vehicle– 2 counts, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

The investigation is continuing and nothing further is available at this time.
