Alzheimer's Network Of Oregon Offers Four Grants For People With Dementia And Unpaid Caregivers (Photo) - 09/09/26
SALEM, Ore. — Alzheimer’s Network of Oregon (AlzNet) is accepting applications for four grants of up to $500 each for people living with dementia and unpaid caregivers. Applications are due October 30, 2026.
Two Make a Memory Grants and two Caregiver Grants will be awarded. Recipients will be announced in late November 2026.
The Make a Memory Grants are available to Willamette Valley residents diagnosed with a dementia-related illness. The grants can help families or caregivers pay for a meaningful experience, such as a trip to the coast or a visit to a place that holds special significance for the individual.
AlzNet also will award two $500 Caregiver Grants to recognize unpaid caregivers who have demonstrated exceptional dedication while caring for a loved one. Anyone may nominate an eligible caregiver.
“Family caregivers provide vital care while often sacrificing their own time to support the people they love,” said AlzNet President Kathy Belcher. “Through the Caregiver Grants, we want to recognize their dedication and provide meaningful support.”
AlzNet has supported families and caregivers since 2003 through resources, events and programs, including the Memory Café, a monthly social gathering for people with memory loss and their caregivers.
Its signature monthly event, Memory Café, meets on the third Friday of each month at Center 50+ in Salem and on the third Monday of each month at St. Edward Catholic Church in Keizer. The gatherings offer themed activities and opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences.
Applications for the Make a Memory and Caregiver Grants must be received by 5 p.m. October 30, 2026. Applications may be submitted online at AlzNet.org/grant or mailed to P.O. Box 13725, Salem, OR 97309. Mailed applications must be postmarked by October 30. Recipients will be announced in late November.
