Local Scout District Presents Salem Eagles Soar - 04/20/23

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 20, 2023 

Local Scout District presents Salem Eagles Soar 

SALEM, OR – Eagle Scouts from the Salem area will be recognized and honored at Eagles Soar – A celebration of the scouting’s community impact. The free dinner is at the Willamette Heritage Center in Salem at 5:30 pm, Friday April 28, 2023. The event is hosted by the Santiam River District (representing the Salem area of Cascade Pacific Council, Boy Scouts of America). Olivia Sproed, the first female Eagle Scout in Salem, will be emceeing the event. Other speakers will include kids in different stages of their scouting adventure including a Star scout and a Tenderfoot scout. Adults who are former scouts will also share the value of scouting in their lives and careers.  

Several Eagle Scout projects will be showcased around the room to celebrate how they have impacted the community over the years.  

While the dinner is free, the event will feature a silent auction, oral auction and a paddle raise. Items for the auction have been donated by local businesses and community leaders. All proceeds will support the Boy Scouts’ efforts to grow in Marion County.
