Hillsboro, Or - Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center purchased its 19th primary care clinic this past month, extending access to medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy care for Sheridan and the surrounding communities in Yamhill County.
The clinic, located across the street from Sheridan High School, was previously owned by Adventist Health. When the clinic closed earlier this year, it created a significant need in the surrounding community. Recognizing this critical need, Virginia Garcia finalized the purchase in June, effectively filling the health care gap in the area.
West Yamhill County has a population of 18,507, including 5,272 low-income individuals.
“Sheridan, and the surrounding communities will greatly benefit from our new clinic” said Virginia Garcia CEO Gil Muñoz. “This facility will offer comprehensive services, including medical, dental, mental health, and pharmacy care, significantly enhancing healthcare availability and quality for the region.”
The clinic is estimated to open in the spring of 2025. In the meantime, Virginia Garcia will utilize their mobile clinic to offer services during specific events, such as back to school vaccinations and sports physicals.
