News Release
Portland Timbers and Thorns scheduled to visit Virginia Garcia Cornelius location - 06/09/18

The Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns have a planned stop at the Virginia Garcia Wellness Center in Cornelius on Monday, June 11 from 4-7pm.  Schedule to appear at the event are Diego Valeri, Cristian Paredes, Victor Arboleda, Elizabeth Ball and Meg Morris. The players will be interacting with the kids and families in attendance with planned activities such as tie-dying shirts, games, and of course, a bit of soccer.

The visit is part of the Timbers/Thorns efforts with "Stand Together".  Their mission is to "harness the power of sport to improve the lives of children and families through targeted programs, deep partnerships, and philanthropic giving."  This is the second year the organization has brought players to the Cornelius location for fun games and activities with the community.  "We are very excited about their visit", said Wellness Center Coordinator Martha Munoz.  "It is a great way to give the children in the community an opportunity to meet the players they watch on TV each week."

Families interested in signing up for the event should contact the Wellness Center directly. The Timbers and Thorns will be at the Cornelius Clinic from 4-7pm on Monday, June 11. The address is 1151 Adair, Cornelius, Or.
