Vancouver Fire Responds To Residential Structure Fire On E. 32nd Street (Photo)

At approximately 2:36 p.m., Vancouver Fire responded to a reported structure fire at 815 E. 32nd St. Four engines, two ladder trucks, one squad, and two battalion chiefs were dispatched to the incident.
Fire crews arrived to find a residence with a working fire. Hose lines were quickly deployed, and firefighters brought the fire under control quickly and effectively. Crews then conducted overhaul operations to ensure all remaining hot spots were extinguished.
No firefighters were injured during the incident. Firefighters also safely located and rescued a cat from the home.
The family has been displaced as a result of the fire.
As temperatures rise and vegetation becomes drier, Vancouver Fire encourages residents to keep vegetation and other combustible materials away from homes and other structures whenever possible. Dry conditions can allow fires to spread quickly, and taking simple preventative measures can help reduce the risk of fire and protect lives and property.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
