Natural Gas Leak Near 44th Street And 123rd Avenue - 02/24/26

Vancouver Fire Department is currently on scene of a natural gas leak in the area of 44th Street and 123rd Avenue.

As a precautionary measure, 17 homes have been evacuated, 307 community members were contacted during the evacuation. Emergency crews are working to secure the area and ensure the safety of the community while the source of the leak is mitigated.

Agencies and partners assisting on scene include:

  • Northwest Natural Gas

  • Vancouver Public Works

  • Vancouver Police Department

  • Clark Public Utilities (Clark County PUD)

  • Private contractors supporting utility and infrastructure operations

Public safety remains the top priority. Air monitoring and safety assessments are ongoing. At this time, there are no reported injuries.

We are asking the public to avoid the area of 44th Street and 123rd Avenue to allow emergency personnel to operate safely and efficiently. Road closures are in effect, and traffic in the surrounding area may be impacted.
