Small fire damages restaurant in Vancouver (Photo) - 08/01/22

Shortly after 9 PM Monday night the Vancouver Fire Department was dispatched to Mill Plain Blvd and 102nd ave for a report of a vegetation fire with nearby exposures. The first engine arrived within minutes and found light smoke from the exterior of the building. Firefighters used chain saws and hand tools to open the exterior wall and they utilized a thermal imaging camera to locate hot spots. A second VFD engine arrived to provide manpower and ventilate the interior of the restaurant as there was light smoke within the structure. Crews checked for further fire extension within the interior walls and ceiling. Only two fire engines were required  for this incident. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated by the Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office.
