West Vancouver House fire displaces 7 people and 4 pets (Photo) - 06/17/22

Shortly after 8:15 am yesterday 6 units from the Vancouver Fire Department responded to 710 W 32nd street in West Vancouver for a reported house fire. 2 additional engines were requested by the responding Battalion Chief as a caller reported people still possibly inside the home. When firefighters arrived they found fire showing from the back of the home and an RV also on fire. Crews located all the occupants outside and began attacking the fires with hose lines to prevent it from continuing to spread. It took 25 minutes to bring the fire under control and hot spots remained burning in hidden and concealed spaces creating difficult suppression efforts for our crews. In total 8 units from Vancouver Fire and Clark County Fire District 6 worked to bring this fire under control. 6 adults, 1 child and 4 pets were displaced due to the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross. No other injuries were reported. Crews remained on scene performing over haul for almost 3 hours.
