The first arriving fire engine arrived to find a working chimney fire that had spread into the attic space. Crews pulled hose lines to the interior of the house to gain access to the fire and search for potential occupants.

Firefighters were able to get the main fire under control rapidly however, there were multiple concealed fires that crews had to access and extinguish.

Overall, Vancouver Fire Department sent Five fire engines, a ladder truck and a Battalion Chief to the scene for a total of 20 personnel. There were no reports of injuries however, the family will be displaced from their home.  Vancouver Fire would like to remind you that chimneys need to be cleaned and inspected on a regular basis to help prevent fires.
