Vancouver Firefighters Extinguish Garage Blaze (Photo) - 05/18/20

At 12:40pm today, Vancouver firefighters responded to a reported house fire at s://1">10408 NE 22s://1">nds://1"> street. The first arriving engine company reported flames showing from the eves of a 30’ X 40’ detached garage. The crew immediately began attacking the fire from the exterior. Once additional resources were on scene, crews were able to make an interior fire attack and the bulk of the fire was extinguished. The fire did extend into the attic space above the garage, which required remaining hot spots to be extinguished from the roof. It took 20 firefighters approximately 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported. Red Cross is assisting three adults, three children and two dogs who were displaced as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation with the Vancouver Fire Marshal’s office.
