VA Portland Health Care System Looking For Drivers To Assist With New Facility In Astoria -07/15/24
PORTLAND, Ore.–The VA Portland Health Care System is looking for drivers to help with transportation needs for area Veterans for its new Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Astoria, Oregon. The facility is scheduled to open in August 2024.
The new Astoria clinic, located at 3196 Marine Drive, in Astoria, will benefit Veterans in the area by providing them with easier access to healthcare services for their needs. By offering a convenient location for Veterans to receive medical care, the clinic helps improve their overall wellbeing and quality of life.
Those who are interested are encouraged to contact Wanda Janus at wanda.janus@va.gov, or by phone: 503-721-7804; or Jessica Majano at jessica.majano@va.gov, or by phone: 503-220-8262 ext. 55042.
Drivers will be a part of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Volunteer Transportation Network (VTN), which falls under the Center for Development and Civic Engagement, formerly known as Voluntary Services. Patients registered at the Astoria clinic will need transportation to the Portland VA campus and surrounding areas.
The Astoria CBOC replaced the VA clinic located at Camp Rilea in Warrenton. The need for a new clinic was prompted by an increasing demand for healthcare services among Veterans in the area, and the need to expand existing facilities to meet evolving healthcare needs. The new Astoria facility will ensure local Veterans living in the area will receive care in a timely manner.
