VA Portland Health Care System Women's Health Fair - 03/08/19

PORTLAND, Oregon – The community and media are invited to join VA Portland Health Care System for a free Women Veterans Health Fair to celebrate women Veterans, learn about women’s health topics, and meet staff in our women’s health program. Light refreshments provided.

The Women Veterans Health Fair will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Portland VA Medical Center auditorium at 3710 SW US Veterans Hospital Rd, Portland, OR, 97239. The theme for the Women’s Health Fair is “Day of the Woman Veteran.” Throughout the day there will be information tables as well as speakers and demonstrations in the auditorium. Here's a look at the schedule of events:

9:00 – 9:30 a.m. Welcome
9:30 – 10:00 a.m. Overview of Women’s Health Program
10:00 – 10:30 a.m. Tai Chi
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Women’s Health Program Panel
12:00 – 1:00 p.m. “Brown bag” Video Shorts
1:00 – 1:30 p.m. Qigong
1:30 – 2:00 p.m. Preparing for an Outpatient Appointment
2:00 – 2:30 p.m. Preparing for an Inpatient Stay
2:30 – 3:00 p.m. Yoga
3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Panel Discussion: “I am a Woman Veteran” – Each with a story to tell
4:00 - 4:15 p.m. Closing Remarks

Anyone who served in the military, or who is currently serving in the military, is encouraged to bring a copy of their DD-214 service discharge papers to meet with an enrollment representative on-site to find out if they are eligible for VA health care. The enrollment representative will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the main lobby.

Transportation/Parking: Parking is available in the visitor parking lot. Tri-Met is the bus system for Portland. Bus #8 often serves the medical center from the downtown transit mall. VA Portland Health Care System provides a free shuttle bus service to and from the Portland Medical Center and VA Vancouver Campus. A sky bridge connects the second floor of the VA hospital to the ninth floor of Oregon Health & Science University.
